Sadly, skiing today was cancelled due to wind and dangerous weather conditions on the mountain that prohibited the lifts from running. Fortunately, at a lower elevation the wind was quieter and we were able to go for a hike to Mirror Lake instead. This afternoon a group went to watch The Incredibles 2 in theaters, while others stayed home to explore Government Camp and get the famous Huck's Shakes and Fuxi-wear. This evening we plan on having a team meeting and reviewing World Cup video with coaches. Video review after dinner will also focus on some of the more complex drills we started to work on yesterday so that we can continue our progress tomorrow. Things are very busy and there is far less snow than last year, so our program is robust but might not reflect exactly what we initially intended. As a coaching staff we are trying to be flexible and find the best and safest training, which might mean staying on slalom skis throughout the camp. We will keep you updated and keep our fingers crossed for cold nights and blue skies!
